Gus Malzahn just picked up a SEC transfer. According to LSU Safety Sam Gibson, he is transferring to Arkansas State. Gibson also says the reason he is transferring to ASU is because he plans on playing quarterback.

Gibson was the starting quarterback for the Alabama state champions, Prattville High School, were they ran a spread option on offense. Gibson redshirted for LSU in 2010 and played in 5 games at Safety in the 2011 season.

No official word has come from the Arkansas State Ahtletic Department, but we’ll update as soon as we hear back.
