What’s A Wonderlic?
The Wonderlic test is given to NFL prospects to help teams get a pre-draft assessment of players.
The Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test (formerly known as the Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT)) is a twelve-minute, fifty-question test used to assess the aptitude of prospective employees for learning and problem-solving in a range of occupations. The test was developed by industrial psychologist Eldon F. Wonderlic.[1] The score is calculated as the number of correct answers given in the allotted time. A score of 20 is intended to indicate average intelligence. – Wikipedia
The Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test helps measure general mental ability, widely accepted as being one of the single best predictors of job success. It helps measure a candidate’s ability to understand instructions, learn, adapt, solve problems and handle the mental demands of the position. – wonderlic.com
What’s My Wonderlic?
Ever wondered what you would score on a Wonderlic test? The actual test given to NFL prospects is a 12 minutes, 50 question test. Luckily, there are a couple of websites out there that offer the condensed version of the test that is 4-5 minutes and only has 15-20 questions. Personally, I scored a 32.5 & 33.3 on the two practice tests below. Here are some Wonderlic scores from a few NFL players.
- Ryan Fitzpatrick – 48 (in only 9 minutes)
- Kevin Curtis – 48
- Benjamin Watson – 48
- Drew Bledsoe- 37
- Steve Young- 33
- John Elway- 30
- Mikchael Vick – 20
- Dan Marino- 16
- Donovan McNabb- 14
- Vince Young- 6 (first attempt) & 16 (second attempt)
- Edward “Pig” Prather – 5 (lowest ever)
Test #1 WalterFootball.com
20 Questions. 5 Minutes. http://walterfootball.com/draftwonderlic.php Take the number of answers you got correct and multiply by 2.5 to get your Wonderlic score. My Score: 32.5 (13/20)
Test #2 ESPN.com
15 Questions. 4 Minutes. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=wonderlic/090218 Take the number answers you got correct and multiply by 3.33 to get your Wonderlic score. My Score: 33.3 (10/15)
Suggestions
Both tests use the exact same questions. Take the WalterFootball.com test first because it contains every question in the ESPN.com test plus a couple more. Write down your answers and figure out your score. Then compare your answers to the ESPN.com questions and figure out your score for their test.

Only took the ESPN version… scored a 36.63. Many versions of Madden have you take a wonderlic test when you "create a superstar"
